Rise above plastic!
Do something for the planet today, stop using plastic water bottles. Americans go through more than 70 million water bottles a day and only 14 percent get recycled.
There is a very simple fix to this problem. In our house we have a Brita pitcher in our fridge and a Brita filter on our tap. Before I go somewhere, I fill up a reusable water bottle and take it with me. This saves me from spending money on something that comes out of my tap for free. You can also get your tap water checked at a certified lab; visit epa.gov/safewater/labs to find one near you.
I just purchased a SIGG bottle from reusablebags.com. These bottles have been thoroughly tested to ensure 0% leaching of any substance - no trace of BPA, BPB or any phthalates. Hurry up and order one because they are selling like hotcakes in response to the recent discovery of dangerous chemicals in plastic. Make sure your water bottles aren’t hard polycarbonate marked with the resin code 7 on the bottom, they can contain harmful chemicals that are possible carcinogens.

Today I am so proud of my country. Before this year I was beginning to think that this country would never
get over the barrier of race, but today we see we are headed in the right direction.
The nomination of Obama is proof that we are finally starting to change our thinking as a whole. Barack has been judged by his character and his ability to lead, not by other reasons.
People are ready for change, we are ready to start to save face with the other nations of this world. By closing our eyes to race and nominating Obama we have shown the world that we are still the progressive country we should be that other countries look to for guidance.
That is the United States that I picture in my head.
